Newsletter Reflective journal 

This project is my second one group digital design project, but cooperate with new teammate. In this project, we need to design three newsletter but pick the final one, so, both of need to contribute on this project.

On the first week, we went to LEONE designers boutique together, I in charge of qualitative research, so I asked many question about the boutique and organize the questions and share with my teammates, helps them easy to get some idea ,helps them easy to understand what requires about this boutique, and design the suitable newsletter for this boutique. Ha in charge of take some pictures on the boutique, and give some feedback after we went to the boutique, and helps us understand what product in the boutique and collect element in the boutique. Ina in charge of research how are other similar boutiques look like and how their newsletter look like, and we can refer to this kind of newsletter design.

After that, we share all imformation, and we discussed we need to contribute our individual initial idea, and after that we can choose the best one and develop that one together. When we finished our initial idea, we choosed my idea, ha's product idea and ina's frame idea, and try to mix them together.

During this project, we all worked very well, and both of us contributed for our team, althought, sometime, we have some argue but fortunately we complete our group work very well. Next time, if we need to do this similar group work, I think we can run much better than this time.

This is our group dicision about layout of our final design, 

we want to use black to be our main colour in middle of newsletter,

and design a white frame around the black part.

we want to use this part to develop our final idea.

This is iris's initial idea, we thought it looks nice, but lack of imformation, 

and we should have more product in newsletter in order to sale the works.

This is iris's final design idea, I try to mix our group idea and use polaroid this idea to show frame idea.

I mixed our group idea, and use photoshop to add four more products on newsletter, and change social media icon to black and white because our newsletter subject is black and white, it shouldn't have other colour, because the products already have many colour, if I use many different colour to design this newsletter, it will make it looks messy and the customers don't know which part should focus on.

Initial Idea 1

My initial idea:

My initial idea is comes from this picture, I want to take very high quality picture about the product in boutique, besecuse almost them are handmade and comes from very professional designers. I want to show the quaility of this product. It don't have many works here, but I want to show it is high quality and beauty. It is a high level work and unique. Also, I think this is a promise to customer as well.

 This is my favourite design,

Accroding my research and idea, I took this photo by myself in LEONE boutique.

I thought this compisition is not very good, so I did not use this one to be my newletter background.

I tried to use curves(Command+M) do change the tone of photo to make it looks better.

It is not satisfy for me, so I did it again.

I used Level(Command+ L) to do it this time, I thought is better.

I used eyedropped tool and brush to cover the background, because I want the background totally black.

I added the logo in middle, and make it very big, there have two reasons. The first one is make the logo and the hat can affect each other, and It can feel visual balance. The another reason is this brand need to promote and make more people know that, so make the logo more bigger is suitable.

Add the main vocabulary under the logo.

Fixed the position of logo and words, make them look better.

I thought the words are too sharp, so I changed the color, and make them have same color with LE.

Then, I found it is very hard to see it, so I changed the color again, make their color same with ONE, this time is better.

Change the main word and make the logo more lighter.

Final piece

Information about back page, I have not design it yet because I want to make sure the style of front side frist, and then I can do the back page, but out group dicition is only one page, so we don't need the back page.

Feedback from website design

According to my feedback from my website design, I did some change in my website.

I add the tag line in my homepage.

I use photoshop to edit my pictures, I cut the extra part and do some effect change to make it looks more better.

I add more works in my website.

I changed portpolio to capital letter P.

and change the menu portpolio to capital letter P.

Used potot editor to make my work looks better.

Change my picture, I choose this working picture to show my level.

I found black and white is better.

Organized different types of works, make the same types of works together.
